Who Can Apply?
To apply for Japanese PR, general requirements include:
Living in Japan for at least 10 years.
Having enough financial stability to support yourself.
No criminal background or immigration violations.
There are also exceptions for certain categories:
If you’re married to a Japanese citizen or permanent resident for over 3 years and have lived in Japan for at least 1 year, you can apply.

Proof of employment/income and recent bank statements.
Tax payment records and social security proof.
Documents from a guarantor (a letter of guarantee and their income details).

Important Note
To keep your PR status, you must stay in Japan for more than six months during each 12-month period both before and after applying.
