The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a special tourist train named “Swarnim Bharat Yatra” on the occasion of Independence Day.
This 10-day journey will be on the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train and will begin from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station on August 14.
This tour is designed for people who want to visit important places related to India’s freedom movement.
The first stop of the journey will be Ahmedabad, where travelers will visit Sabarmati Ashram, Sabarmati Riverfront, and other nearby tourist spots.
Next, the train will head to Modhera, where passengers can explore the famous Sun Temple and Rani ki Vav (stepwell) in Patan.
After this, it will go to Kevadia, home to the world’s tallest statue — the Statue of Unity.
Key Destinations Covered During the Journey
Pune: Tourists will visit the Aga Khan Palace, Kasba Ganpati, Lal Mahal (Shivaji Maharaj’s childhood home), and the Bhimashankar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, located 124 km from Pune.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad): Visitors will get to see Ajanta and Ellora Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Sites) and the Ghrishneshwar Temple, another Jyotirlinga.
Jhansi and Orchha are also part of the tour, both known for their rich history and cultural heritage.
