Instagram adds New analytics tools for creators

Instagram has launched new analytics features to help content creators understand how their posts are performing and why.

According to Meta, these updates will give creators detailed insights into user activity — including what time and type of engagement their posts are getting.

With the new Reel Like Insights, creators can now see the exact second during a reel when users liked the video.

This data is shown in an interactive chart, helping identify which part of the video caught the most attention.

It also provides information about likes, shares, saves, comments, and total interactions.

Better Insights with Charts and Demographics

Another new feature is Carousel Like Insights, which shows which slide in a photo carousel post received likes.

Creators can also use pie charts to compare responses from followers and non-followers, and find out which slide got the most engagement.

Instagram is also offering post-level demographic data for the first time.

Previously, demographic details such as age, gender, and country were only available for the entire account.

Now, creators can access this data for each individual post or reel to better understand which audience prefers which type of content.

Improved Follower Insights and New ‘Viewers’ Metric

The Followers Insights section has been improved as well. It now shows which post or reel led to the most follower gains or losses.

Creators can track trends like new follows, unfollows, and overall follower growth — helping them figure out which content performs best.

Soon, Instagram will introduce a new metric called ‘Viewers’ to replace the current ‘Accounts Reached’.

This new metric will offer a clearer picture of engagement by organizing data based on the type of content.

All these features are being rolled out gradually around the world. Instagram says they aim to help creators get more accurate data so they can improve their content effectively.
