IndiGo is set to launch daily direct flights between Delhi and Guangzhou from November 10, 2025, marking a major boost in air travel between India and China.
The airline will operate this route using its Airbus A320 aircraft, reconnecting two of Asia’s major business and cultural hubs after several years of limited connectivity.
This new route follows IndiGo’s earlier announcement of daily Kolkata–Guangzhou flights, starting October 26, 2025.
The Delhi connection, however, is a completely new addition to IndiGo’s growing international network.
Strengthening Business and Cultural Ties
According to Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, this route offers great potential for trade, tourism, and education between India and China.
He said,
“We are pleased to enhance our connectivity to China with daily direct flights between Delhi and Guangzhou. This presents immense potential for cultural exchange, economic collaboration, and educational opportunities between two of the world’s most populous nations.”
Malhotra added that the airline aims to boost travel convenience for both business and leisure passengers while supporting investment and economic collaboration between the two countries.
Flights Resume After Four Years of Suspension
Direct flights between India and China had been suspended since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and rising diplomatic tensions.
Earlier this month, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that commercial air services between the two countries would resume, signaling a gradual improvement in bilateral relations.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the step reflected a “growing trend towards normalisation” in India–China relations.
The Chinese Embassy also welcomed the move, calling it a positive sign for future cooperation.
Flight Timings and Booking Details
The new Delhi–Guangzhou flight (6E 1701) will depart Delhi at 9:45 PM and reach Guangzhou at 4:40 AM (local time).
The return flight (6E 1702) will take off from Guangzhou at 5:50 AM and land in Delhi at 10:10 AM.
