IndiGo Airlines has shared an important update for passengers affected by recent flight cancellations and delays.

The airline has clarified how and when compensation will be given, while also providing details on refunds and current flight operations.

Here is a simple breakdown of what passengers need to know.

₹10,000 Compensation to Start From January

IndiGo announced that the compensation process will begin in January next year.

Passengers whose flights were cancelled or delayed within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time will be eligible for compensation of ₹10,000.

At present, the airline is focusing on completing refunds.

IndiGo said most refunds for affected passengers have already been processed, and the remaining cases will be cleared soon.

From January 2026, IndiGo will start directly contacting eligible passengers to ensure they receive the compensation they are entitled to.

Total Payout May Cross ₹500 Crore

According to the airline, the total compensation amount could exceed ₹500 crore.

This compensation will be paid to passengers whose flights were cancelled at the last minute or who were stranded at airports during the disruption.

IndiGo has requested patience from passengers and assured them that all cases will be resolved by December or January.

Flight Operations Returning to Normal

IndiGo has also indicated that the situation is gradually stabilising.

The airline said its operations have been returning to normal over the past four days.

All 138 destinations in its network are now fully connected, and flight punctuality has returned to normal levels as per IndiGo’s standards.

Number of Flights Operated Recently

IndiGo shared details of its recent flight operations under the revised schedule.

On Friday, December 12, 2025, the airline operated over 2,000 flights.

On December 11, it operated more than 1,950 flights, with only four cancellations due to bad weather.

IndiGo also operated around 1,900 flights on December 10, 1,800 on December 9, and 1,700 flights on December 8.

This steady increase shows that the airline is working towards fully restoring normal services.
