India’s largest airline is expanding again — and this time, it’s connecting Gujarat more closely to the Mumbai region.

IndiGo will begin direct flights between Bhavnagar (BHU) in Gujarat and Navi Mumbai starting March 29, 2026.

The service will operate twice daily, making travel faster and more convenient for passengers in western India.

Bookings are already open on IndiGo’s website, mobile app, and authorised travel partners.

What’s New on This Route?

The Bhavnagar–Navi Mumbai route will have 14 flights per week, with two flights daily in each direction, subject to government approval.

The airline will operate ATR aircraft, which are ideal for short regional routes and quick travel.

With this addition, Bhavnagar will become IndiGo’s 97th domestic destination and its 142nd overall station.

This move further strengthens the airline’s network in Gujarat and nearby regions.

Why Bhavnagar Matters

Bhavnagar is an important industrial and commercial hub in Gujarat’s Saurashtra region.

The city is known for:

Manufacturing

Ship-breaking industry

Salt production

Diamond trade

Better air connectivity is expected to boost trade, attract investment, and make travel easier between Saurashtra and the Mumbai metropolitan region — India’s financial capital zone.

Strengthening Gujarat Connectivity

With Bhavnagar added to the network, IndiGo now operates from five airports in Gujarat:

Ahmedabad

Vadodara

Surat

Rajkot

Bhavnagar

According to Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, this new route will help improve trade links and support regional economic growth.

For travellers in Bhavnagar, the new service means quicker access to Navi Mumbai — and seamless connections to IndiGo’s wider domestic and international network.

The countdown to March 29 has begun.
