The Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced that the temporary closure of these airports for civil aircraft operations, initially scheduled until 5:29 pm on May 15, 2025, has been lifted with immediate effect.

Passengers were previously advised to monitor airline websites for updates and to contact airlines directly for flight status.

This reopening will help reduce air traffic and benefit both domestic and international airlines.

On May 7, the Indian Army targeted nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan under ‘Operation Sindoor’ in retaliation for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists.

In response, Pakistan launched attacks along the LoC and across the border using drones and missiles.
