Free Bed Roll
Indian Railways gives passengers in AC1, AC2, AC3 coaches one blanket, one pillow, two bedsheets, and one hand towel for free.
However, in Garib Rath Express, there is a charge of Rs 25 for this service.
Additionally, in certain trains, bedrolls are also available for passengers in sleeper class.
If you don’t receive a bedroll during your train journey, you can file a complaint and request a refund.
Free Medical Help
If you become unwell during your train journey, the Railways offers free first aid. In case of a serious situation, they also arrange for additional medical help.
You can reach out to frontline staff, ticket collectors, train superintendents, etc., for assistance.
If necessary, Indian Railways can organize medical treatment for you at the next train stop for a reasonable fee.
Free Food
While traveling on special trains like Rajdhani, Duronto, and Shatabdi, if your train is delayed by more than 2 hours, Indian Railways provides complimentary meals.
Additionally, if you prefer something specific and your train is running late, you can order food onboard through the RE e-Catering service.
You can keep your luggage at the station for a month
Did you know that big train stations in the country have places called cloakrooms and locker rooms?
You can store your things in these storage areas at train stations for up to 1 month. However, there is a fee for this service.
Free waiting Hall
If you arrive at a station and need to wait for your next train or have other tasks to do, you can wait comfortably in the waiting hall at the station, whether it’s air-conditioned (AC) or non-AC. Just show your train ticket for access.
