Indian Railways Bans Vlogging and Reels for Employees

Indian Railways has banned all employees from blogging, making reels, shooting videos, or creating any social media content while on duty.

This rule has been implemented immediately due to security and confidentiality concerns.

Recently, many videos from railway stations, train operations, and staff on duty went viral online.

Railways officials say this can risk security and leak sensitive information, so strict nationwide instructions have been issued.

Content Creation in Sensitive Areas is Strictly Prohibited

The order highlights that employees had been recording videos of train operations, safety procedures, and restricted areas, then uploading them online.

This not only harms the professional image of Indian Railways but also exposes critical security protocols.

The ban applies to stations, workshops, yards, offices, control rooms, trains, and other restricted zones.

Any breach is considered a serious violation of service conduct.

Stricter Mobile Phone Rules

Employees can use personal phones only during breaks and only for important communication.

Making videos, taking photos, editing content, or uploading anything during duty hours is completely banned.

Using official phones, computers, or the internet for personal social media activity is a serious offence.

The decision comes after multiple incidents in divisions like Raipur, where staff were seen taking videos during duty.

Other zones, including the South Eastern Railway, are now enforcing these rules, and supervisors have been instructed to monitor compliance closely.

Consequences for Breaking the Rules

Employees who violate these rules may face:

Suspension

Charge sheets

Salary cuts

Negative remarks in service records

Or even more severe punishment

Officials emphasize that this is not a ban on vlogging in general, but a necessary step to protect security, maintain confidentiality, and ensure smooth railway operations.

Key Points to Remember

Mobile use: Allowed only during breaks for essential communication.

Videography: Prohibited in all operational and sensitive areas.

Consequences: Strict disciplinary action for violations.

Applicability: Rules are nationwide, with more zones adopting them soon.
