Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the train on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). According to reports, the first hydrogen-fuelled train will be launched by March 31.

India Joins Global Leaders in Hydrogen Train Technology

With this launch, India will become the fifth country in the world to use hydrogen-powered trains, following Germany, France, Sweden, and China.

The train will run on the Jind–Sonipat route in Haryana, and it is expected to be the world’s most powerful and longest hydrogen-powered train. Indian Railways says it will be able to carry up to 2,600 passengers.
