If you are a UAE citizen planning to visit India, there is good news.
The Indian government has expanded the Visa-on-Arrival (VOA) facility for UAE passport holders.
Earlier available at only a few locations, this service can now be used at nine major airports across India.
This move aims to strengthen the relationship between India and the UAE and make travel smoother and more convenient.
With this expansion, eligible UAE citizens can now visit India unlimited times in a year without the usual visa hassle.
Visa-on-Arrival Now Available at 9 Airports
The VOA facility can now be availed at the following international airports:
Delhi
Mumbai
Chennai
Bengaluru
Hyderabad
Kolkata
Kochi
Calicut
Ahmedabad
These additions show India’s commitment to improving travel convenience for UAE visitors and enhancing international connectivity.
Who Is Eligible for This Facility?
Not all UAE passport holders can use Visa-on-Arrival.
There are specific requirements:
You must have visited India at least once before.
Your previous visit must have been on an Indian e-Visa or a regular visa.
First-time travelers cannot use VOA and must apply for an e-Visa or regular visa.
Once eligible, travelers can stay in India for up to 60 days.
With a double-entry VOA, they can enter India twice within this period.
The visa can be used for tourism, business, medical treatment, or attending conferences.
However, the VOA cannot be extended or converted into other visa types such as employment or student visas.
Important Pakistan-Related Rule
UAE citizens with any of the following conditions cannot use Visa-on-Arrival:
Born in Pakistan
Permanently residing in Pakistan
Having a parent or grandparent born in Pakistan
Such travelers must follow the standard visa process via the Indian Embassy or Consulate.
Advice for First-Time Travelers
