India announces Fresh Visa Requirement for Pakistani Residents

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has decided that all Pakistani citizens holding a Long-Term Visa (LTV) who have not taken Indian citizenship must reapply through the Electronic Foreigners Regional Registration Office (e-FRRO) portal with verified documents.

The Rajasthan government has also issued instructions to such citizens living in the state to complete the required process within two months.

Rajasthan Inspector General of Police (Security), Dr. Vishnukant, stated that orders regarding this were issued on Monday (April 28, 2025) by Pratap Singh Rawat, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Foreigners-I Department.

The decision follows the Ministry’s order dated April 25 and is made under the powers of Section 3(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
