The government has issued an important notification for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana.
Millions of farmers across India have been waiting for the 21st installment of the scheme.
Under this program, the central government provides Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmers.
This amount is paid in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 directly into the farmers’ bank accounts.
Why Some Installments Are On Hold
According to a notification on the official PM Kisan website, some irregularities have been identified:
Farmers who bought or took ownership of land after February 1, 2019.
Families where more than one member is claiming the benefit (e.g., husband and wife, or parents and adult children).
In such cases, the installment has been temporarily stopped. Farmers are advised to check their eligibility using the Know Your Status (KYC) service, available on the PM Kisan website, mobile app, or the Kisan e-Mitra chatbot.
The government has stated that physical verification will be conducted for these cases.
Until the verification is complete, the next installment will not be credited. This step ensures that only eligible farmers receive the benefit.
Past and Upcoming Installments
So far, 20 installments have been released. The 20th installment was transferred on 2 August 2025.
Farmers are hoping to receive the 21st installment before Diwali, but based on previous years, it may be credited in December 2025, as installments are generally released every four months.
