IMD Warns of Heavy Rain from March 16 to 19 in Several States

Pre-monsoon has started in many parts of the country. During the 2025 monsoon season, India received heavy rainfall, and several states even recorded record-breaking rain.

Even after the monsoon season ended, rainfall continued in many regions, and some states are still experiencing rain in 2026.

Recently, intense heat has been troubling people in many states. However, with the arrival of the pre-monsoon period, the weather has started to change and its impact will be seen in the coming days.

Because of this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Heavy Rain Alert for several states from March 16 to March 19.

Weather Forecast for Rajasthan

Pre-monsoon has already reached Rajasthan, bringing a noticeable change in the weather. According to the Meteorological Department, many districts in the state may receive heavy rainfall between March 16 and March 19.

The department has also warned about lightning and thunderstorms during this period. These weather changes may bring some relief from the intense heat currently being experienced in the state.

Weather Update for Uttar Pradesh

The weather in Uttar Pradesh has also started changing due to the arrival of pre-monsoon conditions. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in many districts on March 16 and March 19.

Rain is also possible on March 17 and March 18, although it may not be as intense. Along with rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds are likely to occur.

These weather conditions may also help reduce the heat in the state.

Heavy Rain Expected in Many States

Pre-monsoon conditions are affecting several states across the country, and the weather is expected to change further in the coming days.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in many places from March 16 to March 19.

States and regions likely to receive heavy rain include Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jammu

and Kashmir, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Mahe, Puducherry, Yanam, Karaikal, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura.

There is also an alert for lightning and storms in many of these areas during this time.

Alert for Light Rain in Several Regions

Along with heavy rainfall in some areas, the Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for light rain in many parts of the country.

According to the forecast, Northwest India, West India, South India, East and Central India,

and Northeast India may experience light rainfall between March 16 and March 19 as the pre-monsoon weather system continues to affect different regions.
