IMD Issues Rain Warning for North, South, East, and Northeast India

Rain continues to affect most parts of the country. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is likely to continue in several regions, including East, West, North, Central, South, and Northeast India.

The IMD has predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the coming days at isolated places in:

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal

Uttarakhand and Western Uttar Pradesh

Region-wise Rainfall Forecast

Tamil Nadu and Kerala: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely over the next 5 days.

Northeast and adjoining East India: These areas are expected to experience continued heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next 7 days.

Western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand: Some places may receive extremely heavy rain over the next 3 days.

Punjab, Haryana, Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh: IMD forecasts very heavy rainfall between August 6 and 11.

Northeastern states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may see rain, thunderstorms, and lightning from August 6 to 11.

Southern states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe, along with Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, and Rayalaseema, are likely to receive heavy rain at isolated places from August 6 to 8.
