IMD Issues Heavy Rain alert for several states from Nov 20–24

This year’s monsoon season will be remembered by everyone because it brought extremely heavy rainfall across the country.

Many states witnessed record-breaking rains, causing rivers, ponds, and dams to overflow. The rains also brought relief from the heat and made the weather pleasant.

Although the monsoon has started weakening in several states, many regions are still receiving rain.

Due to this change in weather, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Heavy Rain Alert for multiple states from November 20 to 24.

Weather Forecast for Southern States

Kerala

Kerala is the first state to receive the monsoon every year, and this year was no different. The state recorded heavy rainfall throughout the monsoon, and even after its withdrawal, the rains have continued.

According to the IMD, several districts in Kerala will receive heavy rain from November 20 to 24, along with the possibility of thunderstorms.

Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh also experienced intense rainfall during the monsoon, and the showers have not stopped even after the season ended.

The IMD says the weather has changed, and intermittent heavy rainfall is likely in coastal areas between November 20 and 24.

There is also a warning for strong winds and thunderstorms.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu received heavy rain during the monsoon, and rainfall continues even now. The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for many districts from November 20 to 24.

During this period, the state may experience thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning.

Heavy Rain Likely in Other Regions

Apart from the southern states, the IMD has also issued alerts for other regions.
Lakshadweep, Mahe, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Yanam,

and Rayalaseema may receive intermittent heavy rain from November 20 to 24, accompanied by strong winds.

Weather in Rajasthan, Delhi, and Northern States

Rajasthan and Delhi also saw heavy rainfall during the monsoon, making the weather pleasant.

Although the rains continued for a short time even after the monsoon ended, they have now stopped.
In these regions, cold weather has started increasing.

The IMD has alerted that from November 20 to 24, the cold will intensify, especially during the morning and night in Rajasthan and Delhi.

Additionally, many districts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, and Maharashtra will also experience a drop in temperature over the next five days, leading to colder conditions.
