When you travel by train with your family or in a group, it is very important to carry a valid identity card. During ticket checking, at least one member of the group must show their ID.

For example, if six tickets are booked under one PNR, at least one passenger must have a valid ID proof.

If no one in the group can show an identity card, the entire group will be treated as traveling without a ticket. This can create serious problems during the journey.

Special Quota and Concession Passengers Must Show Proof

Passengers who have booked tickets under a special quota or have taken any passenger concession must also carry valid documents. They need to prove their eligibility to claim the concession or special quota during ticket verification.

Railways Tighten Enforcement of ID Rules

The rule of carrying an identity card in reserved train coaches is already in force. Now, the Railways have decided to implement it more strictly.

Railway Board Director of Passenger Marketing-II, Sanjay Manocha, has issued official instructions to all railway zones to ensure strict enforcement of this rule.
