If you use an ICICI Bank credit card for movies, travel, or online payments, this update deserves your attention.

From February 1, 2026, ICICI Bank is changing several credit card rules.

Some popular benefits will be removed, while new limits and charges will apply to certain spends.

The bank says these changes are meant to adjust the rewards system, but for cardholders, it could mean higher costs and fewer perks.

Free Movie Ticket Benefit Comes to an End

One of the biggest changes affects movie lovers.

ICICI Bank is discontinuing the BookMyShow movie ticket benefit on select cards.

From February 1, 2026, the ICICI Bank Instant Platinum Chip Credit Card and ICICI Bank Instant Platinum Credit Card will no longer offer free or discounted movie tickets.

This benefit was especially popular among young users who relied on it for weekend entertainment.

Rewards Continue on Insurance and Transport Spends

There is some relief for HPCL card users. ICICI Bank HPCL Super Saver Credit Card holders will continue to earn reward points on insurance payments, but only up to a limit of ₹40,000.

Spending on transport-related merchants will also earn reward points.

However, the eligible amount will range between ₹10,000 and ₹40,000, depending on the card variant.

New Charges on Gaming and Wallet Transactions

ICICI Bank is also introducing extra charges on specific digital payments starting January 15, 2026.

Payments made on online gaming platforms such as Dream11, MPL, Junglee Games, and Rummy Culture will attract a 2% fee.

Loading money into third-party wallets like Amazon Pay, Paytm, and MobiKwik will now cost 1% extra if the transaction amount is ₹5,000 or more.

Transport Payments Will Cost More

Large transport-related transactions will also become expensive.

If you spend more than ₹50,000 in the transport merchant category, ICICI Bank will charge an additional 1% fee on the transaction.

What Cardholders Should Do Now

With these changes coming soon, ICICI Bank credit card users should review their spending habits.

Benefits like free movie tickets are going away, while charges on gaming, wallets, and transport spends are increasing.

Checking your card type and understanding the new rules can help you avoid unexpected charges and plan your expenses better.
