Hyundai has recently launched two dedicated taxi models for commercial buyers — the Prime HB hatchback and the Prime SD sedan.

The Prime HB is based on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, while the Prime SD is based on the Hyundai Aura.

At launch, Hyundai priced the Prime HB at ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Prime SD at ₹6.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

To make these cars more affordable for taxi operators, the company is also offering special EMI schemes. Both models can be bought with a down payment of ₹31,950, followed by a monthly EMI of ₹11,870.

However, the release of Hyundai’s official brochure created confusion about the Prime HB’s pricing.

The brochure mentions an ex-showroom price of ₹6.40 lakh, which is about ₹40,000 higher than the launch price. This difference is due to location-based pricing.

Hyundai Prime HB (i10 Nios Taxi) Pricing Explained

Hyundai has clarified that the Prime HB hatchback has different ex-showroom prices depending on the state and city. This makes it one of the few mass-market cars in India with multiple official base prices for the same model year.

The ₹6 lakh ex-showroom price is applicable in New Delhi, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh.

In most other states and cities, the Prime HB is priced at ₹6.40 lakh ex-showroom, which is why this price is prominently shown in Hyundai’s national brochure.

There are also small regional variations. For example, in Imphal (Manipur), the Prime HB costs ₹6,42,500 ex-showroom, which is around ₹2,500 more than the standard ₹6.40 lakh price. Interestingly, in Moirang (Manipur), the price remains ₹6.40 lakh.

Hyundai Prime SD (Aura Taxi) Pricing Details

The pricing of the Hyundai Aura-based Prime SD sedan is much simpler compared to the Prime HB. Hyundai has kept the ex-showroom price fixed at ₹6.90 lakh across most states and cities in India.

Unlike the Prime HB, the Prime SD does not have a lower-priced region. Customers in Delhi, Haryana, Chhattisgarh,

and Andhra Pradesh pay the same price as buyers in other states. This makes cost planning easier for taxi operators.

The only exception is Imphal (Manipur), where the Prime SD is priced ₹2,500 higher than the standard ₹6.90 lakh ex-showroom price.
