Hyundai Motor India has introduced the Exter CNG in the Indian market, featuring dual-cylinder technology.
The car will be available in three variants: S, SX, and Night Edition.
Hyundai Exter CNG is set to compete directly with the Tata Punch CNG, which also utilizes dual cylinder technology.
Hyundai Exter CNG
The Hyundai Xter CNG utilizes two small cylinders instead of one large cylinder. This design feature enables easy access to the boot space for luggage storage, addressing a common limitation in many CNG vehicles.
Additionally, the vehicle includes an integrated control unit system, facilitating seamless conversion between petrol and CNG modes.
Powertrain of Hyundai Xterra CNG
This CNG SUV from Hyundai India runs on a 1.2-litre bi-fuel engine that operates on both CNG and petrol.
It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission; however, an automatic gearbox option is not available.
The vehicle’s dual-cylinder system has a tank capacity of 60 litres, and its engine delivers 60 PS of power.
Hyundai claims this CNG Duo model achieves a mileage of 27.1 km/kg.
Features of Hyundai Exter CNG
The new Hyundai Xcent model features an electric sunroof and includes amenities such as automatic climate control, 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-start assist control (HAC).
The car’s dual-cylinder technology also enhances its boot space.
Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Price
The ex-showroom price for the Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo starts from Rs 8.50 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.38 lakh.
Hyundai recently marked the sale of 93 thousand units of the Exter, and to commemorate this milestone, the company launched the Night Edition of the car in India.
