In a year marked by dynamic growth in the Indian automobile industry, the prestigious Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) and Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) Awards for 2023 have been announced by JK Tires.
The ceremony, held in Mumbai, recognized outstanding contributions in the automotive sector, highlighting the best car and motorcycle introduced in 2023.
ICOTY and IMOTY Awards 2023:
Under the 19th edition of ICOTY and the 17th edition of IMOTY Awards, Hyundai’s entry-level SUV, the Exter, was crowned the Indian Car of the Year for 2024.
This accolade was bestowed upon the Exter in recognition of its exceptional features, innovative design, and stellar performance.
Best Motorcycle and Other Awards:
- Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) 2024: Royal Enfield’s new Himalayan claimed the coveted IMOTY Award for 2024. The motorcycle garnered praise for its excellence in the two-wheeler segment.
- Premium Car Award: The BMW 7 Series was honored with the Premium Car Award, acknowledging its superior features and performance in the premium car category.
- Green Car Award: Hyundai IONIQ 5, an electric car, received the Green Car Award, recognizing its contribution to sustainability and innovation.

Nominated vehicles underwent scrutiny through a panel discussion with automotive journalists, considering multiple customer-centric parameters.
Criteria included aspects such as price, mileage, styling, comfort, safety, performance, technical innovation, value for money, and suitability for Indian driving conditions.
