How to Find EV Charging Stations using Google Maps

If you use an electric vehicle (EV), the most important thing during travel is finding charging stations.

Thankfully, Google Maps makes this process very simple. You can easily locate nearby EV charging stations by following these steps:

Steps to Find a Charging Station

Open the Google Maps App

First, open the Google Maps app on your smartphone. If you don’t have it yet, you can download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Search for ‘EV Charging Station’

In the search bar at the top, type “EV Charging Station” and hit search. You can also search in Hindi if you prefer.

View Nearby Stations

After searching, Google Maps will display a list and map view of nearby EV charging stations based on your current location.

Use Filters for More Options

You can apply filters to find:

Stations that are open now

Specific charger types (e.g., CCS, Type 2, CHAdeMO)

Free charging stations

Each station listing will also show

Station name

User ratings and reviews

Charging speed (fast or normal)

Charging network (like Tata Power, Ather Grid, Statiq, etc.)

Get Directions

Select a station and tap on “Directions.” Then, press “Start” to begin navigation.

Plan EV-Friendly Routes

If you’re going on a long trip, you can plan a route that includes charging stations. Just enter your destination in Google Maps,

and choose the option “Add charging stops.” This will help you find charging points along your way.
