If you use an electric vehicle (EV), the most important thing during travel is finding charging stations.
Thankfully, Google Maps makes this process very simple. You can easily locate nearby EV charging stations by following these steps:
Steps to Find a Charging Station
Open the Google Maps App
First, open the Google Maps app on your smartphone. If you don’t have it yet, you can download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Search for ‘EV Charging Station’
In the search bar at the top, type “EV Charging Station” and hit search. You can also search in Hindi if you prefer.
View Nearby Stations
After searching, Google Maps will display a list and map view of nearby EV charging stations based on your current location.
Use Filters for More Options
You can apply filters to find:
Stations that are open now
Specific charger types (e.g., CCS, Type 2, CHAdeMO)
Free charging stations
Each station listing will also show
Station name
User ratings and reviews
Charging speed (fast or normal)
Charging network (like Tata Power, Ather Grid, Statiq, etc.)
Get Directions
Select a station and tap on “Directions.” Then, press “Start” to begin navigation.
Plan EV-Friendly Routes
If you’re going on a long trip, you can plan a route that includes charging stations. Just enter your destination in Google Maps,
and choose the option “Add charging stops.” This will help you find charging points along your way.
