Due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, there is a shortage of LPG cylinders. To manage this situation, the government has introduced a new rule encouraging people in areas with piped natural gas (PNG) to gradually shift from LPG to PNG.

Under this rule, gas companies will first send you a notice and give you around three months to get a PNG connection. If you do not switch within this time, your LPG supply may be stopped.

This means that in areas where PNG is available, depending on LPG cylinders may soon become difficult.

How to Check PNG Availability in Your Area

You can check whether PNG is available in your area both online and offline. The easiest method is to visit the official website of your city’s gas provider.

Different companies provide PNG services in different cities across India, such as Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), and Adani Total Gas Limited.

On their websites, you will find options like “Check PNG Availability” or “Apply for PNG Connection.” You simply need to enter your area name, pin code, or full address to know if PNG is available in your location.

How to Check PNG on IGL (Delhi-NCR)

If you live in Delhi-NCR, you can check PNG availability through IGL’s website or mobile app.
Go to the official website and open the “New Connection” or “PNG Availability” section.

Enter your PIN code, area, or complete address. The system will then show whether PNG is available in your area. If it is available, you can apply for a connection directly.

How to Check PNG on MGL (Mumbai Area)

For people living in Mumbai and nearby areas, MGL provides PNG services.

Visit the MGL website and click on “Apply for PNG Connection” or “Check Availability.” Enter details like your area, building name, or pin code.

Once submitted, you will immediately know if PNG is available. If it is not available, you can choose the “Register Interest” option.

How to Check PNG on Adani Total Gas

Adani Total Gas offers PNG services in many cities.

Go to their website and open the “PNG Domestic Connection” or “Check Network Availability” section. Enter your city, area, and pin code.
