Honor has unveiled the world’s first concept robotic smartphone, combining AI and robotics in one device.
The company has shared a video showcasing this innovation, where the phone’s camera automatically pops out, moves around, and takes pictures on its own.
The device can also recognize user gestures and interact with them intelligently.
Honor has truly surprised the tech world with this futuristic idea. In a 2.45-minute concept video, the phone is shown featuring a pop-up camera that comes out of the device and moves freely using gimbal-like technology.
According to the company, this robotic camera can understand and respond to the user’s facial expressions and movements, making it one of the biggest breakthroughs in smartphone design so far.
A robotic arm with a smart camera
The camera is mounted on a gimbaled robotic arm, allowing it to extend and move in multiple directions.
In the video, when the phone is placed on a table, it can automatically capture moments without any manual effort.
It can even take photos and videos while the user is walking, acting almost like a built-in cameraman.
May launch at MWC 2026
Honor has confirmed that this innovative phone is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026.
Though currently shown as a concept, it is said to be a real working prototype, which could reach the market in the near future.
This invention by Honor has created a major buzz in the smartphone industry.
Experts believe it could reignite innovation in the sector, pushing other brands to develop similar AI-powered technologies.
Moreover, this robotic phone also gives a glimpse into the future of AI agents, where smartphones may act more like intelligent companions than just devices.
