Honda CB125 Hornet launched at Rs 1.12 Lakh

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has officially revealed the price of its new 125cc sporty commuter bike, the CB125 Hornet.

The bike is priced at ₹1.12 lakh (ex-showroom). It was unveiled last month, but the price was not shared at that time.

The CB125 Hornet is powered by a 123.94cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, the same one used in Honda’s SP 125 and Shine 125.

However, in this bike, the engine has been slightly tuned to produce 11.1hp and 11.2Nm – that’s a small increase of 0.3hp and 0.2Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

Unique Features and Design

One standout feature of the CB125 Hornet is its golden USD (upside-down) front fork, which is a first in this segment.

It also comes with a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. For braking, the bike uses a 240mm front disc with single-channel ABS and a rear drum brake.

It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 80/100-17 tyres in the front and 110/80-17 tyres at the back.

The bike weighs 124 kg (kerb weight), making it one of the lightest in its category. Still, it’s heavier than the SP 125 by 7 kg and the Shine 125 by 11 kg.

Modern Tech and Connectivity

The CB125 Hornet features a 4.2-inch TFT display, the same as on the Hornet 2.0.

It supports Bluetooth connectivity via Honda’s RoadSync app, which allows for music information, call and message alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation.

It also comes with full LED lighting, including a uniquely designed LED headlamp. The bike is available in four colours: red, fluorescent yellow, blue, and black, all with matching alloy wheels.

Rivals in the Market

In India, the CB125 Hornet will compete with other sporty 125cc bikes like the TVS Raider 125, Hero Xtreme 125R, and Bajaj Pulsar N125.
