As Holi draws closer, flight tickets are becoming much more expensive.

Travelers flying from major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru to Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior are paying far more than usual.

Data from flight booking websites shows a sharp rise in fares compared to normal days.

Airlines had already increased prices during early bookings.

Experts now warn that fares could climb even higher as the festival approaches.

Limited Flights, Higher Prices

On popular routes from Bhopal and Indore, several airlines operate flights.

Because of competition, ticket prices are rising—but not drastically.

However, the situation is different in Jabalpur and Gwalior.

On some routes, only one or two airlines are available. With fewer choices, passengers are left with little option but to pay higher fares.

This limited competition is one of the main reasons ticket prices are shooting up.

March 1 Sees Massive Spike

Usually, airfares from the state’s major airports range between Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000.

But on many Holi dates, these prices have doubled. Since March 1 falls on a Sunday, demand is even higher.

As a result, ticket prices have jumped sharply, increasing travel costs for many families heading home for the festival.

Tickets Touch Rs 15,000 Before Holi

Just a day or two before Holi, fares have reached shocking levels.

Routes that once cost Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 are now priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000.

The highest fares are being recorded on March 1 and 2.

To avoid paying steep prices, many passengers are choosing alternative routes.

Some travelers from Jabalpur and Gwalior are first flying to Nagpur, Indore, or Bhopal.

From there, they take connecting flights to cities like Pune or Kolkata in an attempt to save money.

With demand rising and limited seats available, booking early may be the only way to avoid paying a premium this Holi season.
