Delhi-NCR: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warns of heavy rain in Delhi-NCR over the next two days.
Though cities like Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida have seen moderate rain, humidity remains high. Similar weather is seen in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Meanwhile, Mumbai has been hit by heavy rains for four days, causing severe flooding and disrupting daily life.
Mumbai:
Mumbai faced waterlogging and flooding due to heavy rains. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) evacuated residents as water levels in the Mithi river rose. Over the last four days, 21 people have died in Maharashtra due to floods.
Gujarat Floods:
Several coastal districts in Gujarat are flooded after heavy rains. Junagadh’s Mendarda taluka recorded 331 mm of rain in 12 hours, and nearby areas like Keshod, Porbandar, Navsari, and Valsad also faced heavy downpour.
Rescue operations are underway as rivers overflow, and over 50 villages are on alert. One person died due to lightning.
Kashmir:
Heavy rains caused river flooding, landslides, and road blockages in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Mughal Road and Jammu-Srinagar National Highway faced disruptions, affecting traffic and commuters. Landslides occurred near Nandani tunnel and Chenani, but no casualties were reported.
Himachal Pradesh:
Schools and colleges are closed in Una, Kullu, and Mandi districts due to flash floods, cloudbursts, and landslides. A pilgrim from UP died after a rockfall near Ganesh cave during Kailash Yatra.
Several roads including three national highways are closed, and toll collection is suspended at key points due to landslides. The IMD has issued orange and yellow alerts for the coming days.
