For the past three days, cold westerly winds in Uttar Pradesh have provided relief from the intense heat.
Temperatures in many districts dropped by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius below normal.
In Lucknow, the minimum temperature, which was 22°C three days ago, fell to around 17°C on Sunday.
Change in Weather as Winds Slow Down
On Sunday, the wind speed decreased to 20 km per hour, leading to a change in the weather.
As a result, daytime temperatures in several districts rose by 2 to 3 degrees. Cities like Prayagraj and Varanasi experienced intense sunlight.
According to Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Center in Lucknow, the slowing of westerly winds from Sunday will cause both maximum
and minimum temperatures to rise starting Monday. Over the next five days, temperatures in Uttar Pradesh could increase by up to 5°C.
Rising Temperatures Ahead
With the weakening of cold westerly winds, temperatures have started to rise again.
While the mercury had dropped significantly in recent days, Sunday saw an increase in temperatures in several districts.
The lowest temperature of 12.5°C was recorded in Najibabad, while Prayagraj recorded the highest at 37.7°C.
Experts predict that from Monday, both daytime and nighttime temperatures will continue to rise, with a possible increase of up to 5°C in the coming days.
