If you use credit cards from HDFC Bank like Regalia Gold or Diners Privilege, this update is important for you. The bank is making several changes to its reward system and benefits in 2026.
These changes will roll out in phases from May 15 and July 1. The biggest shift is that your benefits will now depend more on how much you spend.
Reward Points System Gets Updated
Starting May 15, the reward structure of Regalia Gold will change.
Earlier, you earned 4 reward points for every ₹150 spent. Now, you will get 5 points for every ₹200 spent. This means the value you get per ₹100 spent will be slightly lower than before.
However, there is some relief. Extra rewards offered on specific categories will continue as they are, so frequent users in those categories may still benefit.
New Charges You Should Know
The bank is also introducing some additional fees.
The DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion) charge on international transactions has increased to 1.75%
If your card is lost or damaged, getting a replacement will now cost ₹199
These changes may slightly increase your overall card usage cost, especially for international spending.
Lounge Access Now Linked to Spending
From July 1, free airport lounge access will no longer be automatic.
To get 3 domestic lounge visits per quarter, Regalia Gold users must spend at least ₹60,000 in that quarter.
For international travel, you will still get 6 free lounge visits per year through Priority Pass, and no spending condition is required.
Diners Privilege cardholders will follow a similar rule. They will receive lounge access vouchers, but these must be generated through the Smart Buy platform before use.
New Travel Edge Program Introduced
To balance these changes, HDFC Bank has introduced a new feature called Travel Edge for Regalia Gold users.
Under this program, you can get two travel-related benefits every quarter. These may include:
Up to ₹750 discount on Uber rides
Spa services
Hotel buffet offers
Room upgrades
There is one condition though. You will need to upload your boarding pass to claim these benefits.
