HDFC Bank has updated the reward points policy for its premium Infinia metal credit card.
The new rules come into effect from February 1, 2026, and bring more clarity on how often and how much cardholders can redeem their reward points each month.
While the way reward points are earned remains the same, the bank has now clearly defined monthly redemption limits.
Reward Points Can Be Redeemed 5 Times a Month
From February 1, Infinia cardholders can redeem their reward points up to five times in a month.
Earlier, reports suggested that this limit had been reduced to three times, but the bank has now officially confirmed the five-time monthly limit.
This change does not affect how points are earned, but it does control how much value can be taken out in a single month.
How Reward Points Are Earned
Infinia metal card users earn 5 reward points for every Rs 150 spent, subject to applicable conditions.
Spending through HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy platform offers higher benefits.
Eligible transactions can earn up to 10 times the normal reward points, making SmartBuy a preferred option for frequent spenders.
Monthly Redemption Limits Explained
HDFC Bank has placed multiple caps on reward point usage:
Maximum reward point redemption per statement cycle: Rs 2 lakh
Monthly cap for flights, hotels, and air miles: Rs 1.5 lakh
Reward points usable for Apple products and Tanishq vouchers: Up to 70% of the bill value
Reward points against statement balance: Maximum 50,000 points per month
Any remaining amount must be paid using the Infinia credit card.
Reward Point Value: Where You Get the Most Benefit
The value of each reward point depends on how it is redeemed:
Apple products and Tanishq vouchers via SmartBuy: Rs 1 per point
Flights and hotel bookings: Rs 1 per point
Air miles conversion: Up to 1 air mile per point
Other products and vouchers: Up to Rs 0.5 per point
Cashback against statement balance: Up to Rs 0.3 per point
Important Things Cardholders Should Know
Reward points will expire if the card is not used for 365 days. Regular usage is required to keep points active.
Separately, HDFC Bank has also revised lounge access rules for certain debit cards.
Customers who meet the quarterly spending requirement of Rs 10,000 will receive a lounge access voucher link on their registered mobile number and email within two working days.
These changes make it important for Infinia cardholders to plan redemptions carefully to get maximum value from their reward points.
