Updates from Haryana and Chhattisgarh

The Haryana government has joined in by increasing the dearness allowance for its employees by 3 percent.

On Wednesday, the Naib Singh Saini government announced this increase in the dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for government employees

and pensioners, effective from July 1. According to the announcement, the new DA and DR rates will apply from July 1, 2024.

This means that Haryana government employees and pensioners will see their dearness allowance rise from 50 percent to 53 percent of their basic pay.

The updated amounts will be included with their October salary and pension, while the arrears from July to September will be paid in December.

Before this, the Chhattisgarh government had also announced a change in the dearness allowance.
