New Delhi: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has extended the due date for filing GSTR-3B for July 2025 to August 27, 2025, for registered taxpayers in Mumbai and select districts of Maharashtra.
This extension is due to heavy rainfall and disruptions in normal life across these regions.
Districts Where the Extension Applies
According to a tweet by the CGST Mumbai Zone, the revised due date applies to taxpayers located in:
Mumbai City
Mumbai Suburban
Thane
Raigad
Palghar
What Is GSTR-3B?
GSTR-3B is a simplified summary return under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. It allows taxpayers to:
Declare their GST liabilities for a tax period
Pay the taxes due
Who Needs to File GSTR-3B?
The following taxpayers must file GSTR-3B:
Normal taxpayers (registered businesses)
Casual taxpayers
Due dates:
Monthly filers: 20th of the following month
Quarterly filers: 22nd or 24th of the month following the quarter (based on State/UT)
Note: The government can extend the due date through official notifications in case of special circumstances—like in this case, due to weather-related disruptions.
