If you are planning to earn money by creating AI videos, there is good news for you. You can now create AI videos for free on Google Vids.

Google Vids, Google’s platform for creating videos using artificial intelligence (AI), has received a major update.

In August 2025, Google made the platform available to all users, but the option to create AI videos through text prompts was limited to users with a paid subscription.

Now, the company has announced that everyone can create AI videos for free using Veo 3.1. Although the number of free videos is limited, this update creates new opportunities even for users who do not have a paid subscription.

Google Vids Gets Several New Features

In a recent blog post, Google shared details about the new features included in this update.

The biggest update is that video creation with the Veo 3.1 AI model is now free for everyone. Any user with a personal Google account can now create AI videos up to eight seconds long using either text prompts or image input.

At present, users with free accounts can create up to 10 videos per month.

Another major feature is custom soundtracks. Using the Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro models, users can now add AI-generated soundtracks to individual clips or full videos.

According to Google, users can create soundtracks ranging from 30 seconds to three minutes long. However, this feature is currently available only for Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers.

AI Avatars Added to the Platform

Google is also adding AI avatars to the platform.

While creating anchor-based clips or videos, paid users can now use Veo 3.1 to create a customizable AI avatar with the same face and voice. This means the same avatar can be used across multiple clips and even different projects without any issue of consistency.

These AI avatars are highly controllable. Users can place them in specific scenes and even make them interact with uploaded objects.

The appearance of the avatar can also be changed. Google says users can customize small details such as clothing, facial appearance, and even the background.

Easier Video Sharing and Direct YouTube Export

Finally, Google is also making it easier to create and share video projects on Google Vids.

With a new screen recorder Chrome extension, users can now record their screen or themselves from anywhere on the web. This makes the video creation process much faster and just a click away.

Along with this, users can now publish their finished videos directly to YouTube.

This new export process removes the extra steps that were previously required, such as rendering the video, downloading it, and then uploading it separately to the platform.

In addition, all exports will be private by default, allowing users to preview the videos before making them public.
