Google has introduced a new AI-powered photo editing feature for Android users in India, making photo editing easier than ever.
With this update, users can edit photos in Google Photos using voice commands instead of manual tools.
The best part is that you don’t need a high-end phone.
If your smartphone has 4GB RAM or more and runs on Android 8 or later, you can use this feature.
Google has already launched it in the US, and it is now rolling out in India.
No Pixel Phone Needed for ‘Ask Photos’
Earlier, Google’s ‘Ask Photos’ feature was limited to Pixel 10 smartphones in the US.
Now, Google has opened it up for all eligible Android users in India.
This feature allows users to edit photos using voice or text commands directly inside the Google Photos app.
Along with this update, Google has also refreshed the app’s design to make AI editing easier to access.
Voice Editing Available in Indian Languages
Google has made this feature more user-friendly for Indian users by adding local language support.
Apart from English, users can give voice commands in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, and Bengali.
This makes AI photo editing accessible to a much wider audience across the country.
As long as your phone meets the RAM and Android version requirements, you will be able to use this feature without any extra setup.
How to Edit Photos Using AI in Google Photos
Using AI editing in Google Photos is simple.
First, open the app and select the photo you want to edit.
Once selected, a “Help me edit” bar will appear.
From there, you can activate Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, and tell it what changes you want.
You can use commands like removing background clutter, improving focus on a person, or enhancing the overall look.
For more advanced edits, Gemini can guide you further.
Feature Rolling Out Gradually
At the time of writing, the AI editing option was not visible to all users.
Since the announcement is recent, Google is expected to roll out the feature gradually over the next few days.
Once available, this update will make photo editing faster, simpler, and more accessible for millions of Android users in India.
