Google Gemini App Launches on Android, iOS Users to Benefit Soon

Google has launched its Gemini app for Android users in India, offering a new AI-powered experience.

While iOS users do not have a standalone app, they can activate an AI-powered chatbot through a toggle within the Google app.

Android Launch and Global Rollout

The Gemini app was initially rolled out on February 8, limited to the US market. Now, it’s being launched in over 150 countries and territories, including India.

The app supports English, Korean, and Japanese languages and is available for devices with at least 4GB RAM running Android 12 or newer versions.

iOS Integration

iPhone users can access Gemini’s AI capabilities through the Google app by toggling the feature located at the top-right corner.

The AI service is currently available only in English, Japanese, and Korean languages, restricting its availability to devices set to these languages.

Compatibility and Requirements

The Gemini app requires Android 12 or later versions, while the Gemini toggle in the Google app is accessible on iPhones running iOS 16 and above.

Users need to sign in to their personal Google account or Workspace account to access Gemini features.

Rollout and Enhancements

The global rollout began recently and may take a few days to reach all devices.

Google’s Jack Krawczyk mentioned plans to relax restrictions on image uploading and generation within the Gemini app.

Efforts are underway to provide clearer information about the features available through Gemini,

addressing user concerns regarding feature clarity.

As Google expands the availability of its Gemini app, users can expect an enhanced AI-powered experience on both Android and iOS platforms,

providing more intuitive and efficient interactions.
