Google Discontinues Pixel 7 Series and Pixel Fold Smartphones

On August 13, Google introduced its latest flagship smartphone series, the Pixel 9. The company unveiled four new models: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Following the launch, Google announced that it will no longer be selling the Pixel 7 series and the original Pixel Fold foldable smartphones.

Discontinuation of Pixel 7 Series and Original Pixel Fold

A report by 9to5Google confirmed that Google has discontinued the Pixel 7 series and the original Pixel Fold.

The link to the original Pixel Fold now redirects to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Additionally, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are no longer available on Google’s website, but they can still be purchased on Flipkart while supplies last.

These models are being offered at significant discounts, with the Pixel 7 priced at Rs 32,999 and the Pixel 7 Pro at Rs 44,999.

Google Pixel Fold Details

Released in May 2023, the Google Pixel Fold was praised for its innovative design and software integration.

This foldable smartphone features water resistance, a custom-made Tensor G2 processor, a 7.6-inch OLED internal display,

and a 5.8-inch FHD+ external OLED screen. The phone is equipped with a 48MP main camera, a 10.8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 4821mAh battery.

Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro Highlights

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, launched in October 2022, were the first smartphones to feature Google’s Tensor G2 chipset

and Photo Unblur technology, which uses machine learning to enhance blurry photos. Both phones come with a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.
