If you drive in Delhi and have a pending traffic challan, there’s good news. Now you don’t have to spend months visiting court or pay heavy fines.
The Delhi Traffic Police and Delhi State Legal Services Authority are offering a special chance to clear old challans and notices.
This opportunity will be available on 13 September 2025, when the National Lok Adalat is held in Delhi.
On this day, a large number of vehicle owners can come forward and settle their challans easily.
Easy Process in Lok Adalat
Settling challans in Lok Adalat is simple, and in many cases, you may also get some exemption. That’s why it is being called a golden chance for vehicle owners.
Date & Time: 13 September 2025, from 10 am to 4 pm
Court Complexes: Hearings will be held at 7 big court complexes in Delhi:
Patiala House
Karkardooma
Rouse Avenue
Tis Hazari
Dwarka
Saket
Rohini
Vehicle owners can visit any of these places to settle their challans.
Online Preparation for Challan Settlement
People can download their challans and notices from the official Delhi Traffic Police website – traffic.delhipolice.gov.in.
This facility has been active since Monday morning.
Limit: Only 60,000 challans can be downloaded per day.
In total, 1.80 lakh challans can be downloaded till 13 September.
Documents Required
To settle your challan in Lok Adalat, keep these documents ready:
Copy of challan or notice
RC of the vehicle (Registration Certificate)
Valid ID proof of the vehicle owner

Lok Adalats have been held in Delhi earlier as well, and the response was huge:
On 8 March, 1,53,437 challans worth about ₹405 crore were settled.
On 10 May, around ₹1.7 crore was recovered from traffic challans.
How Many Challans Can Be Cleared?
There is a limit to the number of challans you can settle in Lok Adalat:
Private Vehicles: Maximum 7 (5 notices + 2 challans)
Commercial Vehicles: Maximum 2 (notices or challans) per vehicle
