However, this policy does not apply to accounts linked to schools or businesses. To avoid losing your account, you should take some simple steps to show activity.
Steps to Keep Your Gmail Account Active
Send or Read Emails: Log into your Gmail account, send an email to a friend or family member, and read some of the emails in your inbox. This shows Google that your account is in use.
Share Photos via Google Photos: If you prefer not to send emails, you can also keep your account active by sharing photos through Google Photos.
Watch YouTube Videos: Log into YouTube using your Gmail account and watch videos. This will also help show that your account is being used.
Use Google Drive or Search: Upload or download files using Google Drive, or simply use Google Search while logged into your Gmail account.
By doing any of these activities, you can prevent Google from deactivating your account. If your account remains inactive, Google may close it permanently.
