ColorOS 17 update has been launched by OPPO with several new features and changes.
Based on Android 17, the latest software update brings a new Fluid Design, improved performance, AI-powered tools and features designed to make everyday phone tasks easier.
The update changes the overall look and feel of supported OPPO devices. However, some features may vary by country and device.
The stable rollout will first begin in China on October 8, while separate schedules for India and other markets will be announced later.
ColorOS 17 Update Brings Fluid Design
One of the biggest changes in ColorOS 17 is the new Fluid Design. OPPO says the design is aimed at making the phone feel smoother and more responsive during everyday use.
Animations while opening apps, switching between apps and interacting with different screen elements are designed to look more natural. Screen transitions may also feel faster and smoother compared with the previous software version.
ColorOS 17 Adds More AI Features
The new update increases the use of AI across different phone functions. AI tools can help users with tasks such as photo editing, creating notes and handling information on the screen.
The AI Photo Editor allows users to make different photo improvements from one place. It can help remove unwanted objects, improve image quality and make colour corrections using AI.
AI Notes has also been updated to make note-taking easier. The feature can help create short summaries of important information, which can be useful when users have lengthy notes.
Smart Screen Reading Can Read Text Aloud
ColorOS 17 also introduces Smart Screen Reading. The feature can read text displayed on the phone screen aloud, which can be useful for users who prefer listening to long content instead of reading it.
The update also aims to improve the way background apps work. This can help when users switch between apps and later return to an app they were using earlier.
ColorOS 17 Rollout Starts With Selected Phones
The stable rollout will begin in China on October 8. The first phase includes devices such as the OPPO Find N6, OPPO Find X9 series, OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15T and Realme GT 8 Pro.
From October 16, the update is scheduled to expand to devices including the OPPO Find N5, OPPO Find X8 series, OPPO Pad 5 Pro, OPPO Pad Mini, OnePlus 13 series, OnePlus Pad 3 Pro, Realme GT 8 and Realme GT 7 Pro.
Several older smartphones and tablets are expected to receive the update in later phases during November and December. The company will announce separate rollout schedules for India and other countries.
