Indian Railways is upgrading its services to offer better and more digital options to passengers.
You no longer have to stand in long lines for general tickets — now you can buy your ticket using UPI and mobile apps.
1/6 – No More Long Queues
Earlier, people had to wait in long queues at railway stations to get general tickets, especially during rush hours. This process was tiring and time-consuming.
2/6 – Relief with the UTS App
Now, general tickets can be booked using the ‘UTS on Mobile’ app. Just enter your journey details and buy your ticket within minutes — right from your phone.
3/6 – Digital Payments Made Easy
The UTS app supports digital payments like UPI. You can easily pay using Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm, making the process fast, smooth, and secure.
4/6 – No Need to Print Tickets
Once booked, your digital ticket is sent to your phone. You can show the SMS or the ticket within the app while entering the station — no need for a paper ticket.
5/6 – Just Scan the QR Code
Railway stations now display QR codes to download the UTS app. Just scan the code, download the app from the Play Store, and start booking right away.
6/6 – Fake Tickets Reduced
When the TTE checks tickets, they accept the mobile ticket or SMS.
This has greatly reduced the chances of fake tickets, making travel safer and more transparent.
