The government has increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders, effective immediately.
A 19-kilogram commercial cylinder is now more expensive by ₹218 in most cities.
Here’s the new price list:
Delhi: ₹2,078.50 (up from ₹1,884.50)
Mumbai: ₹2,031 (up from ₹1,813)
Chennai: ₹2,246.50 (up from ₹2,028.50)
Kolkata: ₹2,208 (up from ₹1,990)
Patna: ₹2,365
Jaipur: ₹2,031
Domestic LPG cylinder rates remain unchanged, so household users will not see a price hike for now.
Previous Price Hike and Context
This is the second LPG price hike in less than a year.
On March 7, the government increased domestic cylinders by ₹60 and commercial cylinders by ₹114.50.
For example, a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder in Delhi went up from ₹853 to ₹913.
The previous hike in April 2025 was ₹50.
Non-subsidized cylinders are used both by ordinary households and PM Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries, meaning the impact on domestic users is significant for non-subsidized customers.
How This Affects You and Businesses
The rise in commercial LPG prices will directly impact hotels, restaurants, and small businesses.
Increased costs for commercial cylinders may lead to higher food prices, making ordering out or eating at restaurants more expensive.
The price rise also reflects broader trends in energy costs, with petroleum and other fuel prices fluctuating in the market.
Customers are advised to plan their usage and budgets accordingly.
