Flipkart launches ‘Minutes’ Quick Commerce Service

For quite some time now, there have been reports of the online shopping platform Flipkart launching a quick commerce service. Finally, it has been launched under the name ‘Minutes’.

The Flipkart Minutes service is now live in Bengaluru, offering delivery of everything from groceries to electronics within 8 to 16 minutes.

Competition and Expansion Plans

With this new platform, Flipkart aims to compete with services like Instamart, Blinkit, Zepto, and BigBasket.

Although the Walmart-owned e-commerce platform has started this instant delivery service in Bengaluru, it plans to expand to other cities soon.

This service has been integrated into the existing Flipkart app and is available in select pin codes of Bengaluru.

Wide Range of Products Available

Flipkart Minutes promises to deliver thousands of products within 15 minutes, and the company plans to operate around 100 dark stores to achieve this.

By the festive season this year, the service will be available in other major cities as well.

Customers can order fresh vegetables, fruits, dairy products, groceries, electronics, everyday household items, and health-related products through this service.

Rapid Growth of the Quick Commerce Market

Flipkart has been eyeing the quick commerce market for a long time, and the launch of Minutes is a significant step in this direction.

The quick commerce market has grown rapidly in India, especially after the Covid pandemic. According to reports, by 2029, this market could grow to $9.95 billion (about Rs 83,201 crore).

The new Minutes service will compete with platforms like Swiggy’s Instamart and Zomato’s Blinkit, as well as Zepto.

Flipkart aims to reach a larger user base with its existing network, and soon more customers will have access to this new service.
