In an effort to enhance customer satisfaction, Flipkart is set to roll out same-day delivery services in 20 cities across India, starting in February.
This new offering aims to provide a swift and convenient shopping experience for users, covering a diverse range of products.
Initial Cities Included
Initially, the same-day delivery service will be available to customers in cities such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Chennai, Delhi,
Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Patna, Raipur, Siliguri, and Vijayawada.
Order Placement and Delivery Schedule
Customers interested in availing same-day delivery need to place their orders by 1 pm.
Flipkart guarantees delivery before 12 midnight for orders placed within this timeframe.
Orders placed after 1 pm will be delivered the next day.
The service will initially cover various product categories, including mobiles, fashion and beauty items, lifestyle products, books, home appliances, and electronics.
Expansion Plans
While the service is set to commence in February, Flipkart plans to gradually extend it over the following months to cater to a broader user base across the country.
This move is expected to provide users with more flexible and efficient shipping options.
Comparison with Amazon
Notably, this initiative by Flipkart brings it in line with competitors like Amazon, which already offers various shipping options, including same-day delivery.
Amazon Prime members enjoy free same-day, one-day, and two-day delivery options.
For those without a Prime subscription, same-day and one-day delivery can be availed at an additional fee,
ensuring a competitive landscape in the e-commerce space.
