During the festive season, many people travel by Indian Railways for Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath.
Long lines at stations and ticket booking problems are common during this time.
To help passengers, the Ministry of Indian Railways has launched a new scheme called “Round Trip Package for Festival Rush.”
Under this scheme, travelers get 20% off on return tickets when booking both onward and return journeys together.
Booking Dates and Travel Period
Booking Start Date: 14 August 2025
Onward Journey: 13 to 26 October 2025
Return Journey: 17 November to 1 December 2025
Note: The 20% discount applies only on the base fare and is specially designed for festive travelers.
Objective and Benefits of the Scheme
The main goals of this scheme are:
Ensure passengers get confirmed seats during the festival rush.
Reduce travel expenses for passengers.
Encourage two-way use of train services and better utilization of special trains.
Reduce crowding at stations and balance train loads.

The offer does not apply to flexi-fare trains like Rajdhani and Shatabdi.
