Good news for daily highway travelers! The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is introducing a new FASTag Annual Pass starting from August 15, 2025.
With this pass, you can travel toll-free on national highways and expressways for up to 200 trips or one year, whichever comes first, by paying just ₹3,000 once.
This pass is aimed at saving both time and money, especially for regular travelers who don’t want to recharge their FASTag frequently.
How the Annual Pass Will Work
Once activated, the pass allows you to travel toll-free through toll plazas on National Highways (NH)
and National Expressways (NE). It will be valid for 200 trips or one year, whichever limit is reached first.
To activate the pass:
Visit the Highway Yatra mobile app or the NHAI website.
Your vehicle and FASTag eligibility will be verified first.
After successful verification, you can pay ₹3,000 to activate the pass.
The pass will be linked to your FASTag within 2 hours.
Where Will This Pass Be Valid?
The pass will be accepted only at toll plazas run by the central government on National Highways and National Expressways.
If you travel through State Highways, other expressways, or parking areas run by state governments, local bodies, or private operators, your FASTag will work normally, and you will still need to pay the toll.
Validity and Renewal of the Pass
The pass stays valid for one year from the activation date or 200 toll trips, whichever comes first.
After this limit, your FASTag will automatically switch back to normal mode.
To continue enjoying toll-free travel, you’ll need to buy and activate a new Annual Pass.
Who Can Use the Annual Pass?
This pass is available only for private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans.
Vehicle details will be verified through the VAHAN database.
If the pass is used for a commercial vehicle, it will be canceled immediately without any warning.
