Farmer Registry: December 31 Deadline for Scheme Benefits

The Farmer Registry process is now mandatory to help improve farmers’ incomes and connect them with government welfare programs.

Its main goal is to ensure that farmers receive benefits from these programs in a fair and efficient way.

Phases of the Farmer Registry Process

The Farmer Registry has two phases. The first phase ended on November 24, 2024, while the second phase will continue until December 31, 2024.

Why the Farmer Registry is Important

According to Agriculture Officer Som Prakash Gupta, this registry is essential for all farmers. It helps farmers access government schemes

and ensures benefits are distributed fairly, strengthening their financial security.

How to Register for the Farmer Registry

The government has provided several ways for farmers to register:

Online Registration Options

Web Portal: Farmers can visit the portal to provide details such as Gata number, family members’ information, and other necessary data.

Mobile App: The “Farmer Registry UP” app is available for download on smartphones, offering a fast and simple way to register.

Offline Registration Option

Farmers who cannot use online platforms can visit their nearest Public Service Center (CSC). They will need the following documents:

1) Certified copy of Khatauni

2) Family ID number or ration card

3) Aadhaar card

4) Mobile number linked to Aadhaar

Deadline for Registration

The last date to complete the farmer registration is December 31, 2024. After this date, farmers who have not registered may face problems accessing government benefits and schemes.

Information Required for Registration

Farmers must provide the following details when registering:

1) Name and father’s name

2) Number of Gata owned

3) Share details if the land is co-owned

4) Mobile number and Aadhaar number

5) e-KYC information

Important Note: If there is any change in ownership (such as inheritance or sale), the registry will become invalid.

This ensures that the registry has accurate and up-to-date information.

Benefits of the Farmer Registry

After December 2024, the Farmer Registry will be mandatory for accessing government schemes like PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. Some of the key benefits include:

1) Easier claims for compensation in case of natural disasters or crop failure.

2) Proof for obtaining crop loans from banks and other financial institutions.

3) Priority for government assistance during natural disasters like floods or droughts.

This version maintains all the information in a simpler format with headings for easier understanding.
