Two major insurance companies, LIC and Bajaj Allianz, have taken important steps to support the families of those who lost their lives in the June 12 plane crash.
Just a day after the accident, both companies announced they are making the claim process easier for the affected families.
LIC, the government-owned insurer, has issued a statement confirming that it is working to settle claims quickly to provide timely financial support.
No Need for Death Certificate — Other Official Documents Accepted
In its statement, LIC said it is committed to helping the families of the deceased. To speed up the process, it has also reduced the list of required documents.
Now, instead of a formal death certificate, any official document confirming the death in the plane crash will be accepted.
Additionally, if the central or state government, or the airline, provides a document confirming compensation for the death, that will also be treated as valid proof.
LIC Sets Up Special Help Desk for Faster Assistance
Experts believe this move will greatly help families by saving them from repeated visits to government offices for paperwork.
LIC has also activated special help cells in all of its branches, divisions, and customer service zones.
Families facing any issues can call LIC’s helpline: 022-68276827 or visit the nearest LIC office for assistance.
Bajaj Allianz Also Simplifies Claim Process
Private insurer Bajaj Allianz has also taken a similar step. The company said it is making the claim process easier for families of policyholders who died in the crash.
It has directed all branches to accept any government-issued document that confirms the death in the accident as proof.
The company has instructed its teams to support the families actively and speed up the claim settlements.
