The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced a big digital change for its 7 crore subscribers.

The main goal is to make Provident Fund (PF) services easier and faster to access.

Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that all essential EPFO services will now be available through a single login system. This includes checking passbook details.

Earlier, employees and pensioners had to go through different portals and multiple processes to access their PF balance, transaction history, claim status, and other details. Now, with the new single login, everything can be accessed in one place.

New “Passbook Lite” Feature

Until now, EPFO members had to log in separately on the Passbook portal to view deposits, withdrawals, and advances.

To simplify this, EPFO has launched a new feature called “Passbook Lite.”

Passbook Lite will be available directly within the member portal.

It will provide a quick and simple overview of the PF account.

For detailed information and graphical presentations of transactions, the existing Passbook portal will still be available.

This dual arrangement will reduce traffic on the portal, improve smooth functioning, and still give users access to both simple and detailed information.

In short, EPFO members now have two options to check their PF details:

Passbook Lite – for basic and brief information.

Existing Passbook Portal – for detailed and graphical information.
