The electricity department has announced a major relief scheme for consumers with outstanding bills.
From December 1, 2025, people can clear their pending electricity dues either through easy installments or by making a one-time payment.
To benefit from this scheme, registration is mandatory.
The registration will take place in three phases:
Phase 1: December 1 to December 31, 2025
Phase 2: January 1 to January 31, 2026
Phase 3: February 1 to February 28, 2026
During registration, consumers must pay a ₹2,000 registration fee.
Multiple Payment Options and Big Discounts
Consumers can choose from three payment methods:
One-time lump sum payment
Monthly installment of ₹750
Monthly installment of ₹500
The scheme offers special benefits for consumers who have never paid their bills or have not paid for a long time (up to March 31, 2025).
These consumers will get a 100% waiver on late fees (surcharge).
Additionally, attractive discounts will be available on the original bill amount:
25% discount on the first payment within 30 days
20% discount on the second payment
15% discount on the third payment
Don’t Miss the Deadline
Consumers must ensure their payments are made on time.
If someone fails to complete the payment within the given period, they will be marked as a defaulter, their discounts will be cancelled, and late fees will be added back.
Officials say this scheme is designed to help consumers clear old dues and encourage regular bill payments in the future.
It is a golden opportunity for those who want to settle their outstanding electricity bills with major financial relief.
