Election Results 2024 Live Updates: I.N.D.I.A bloc passes 200 mark; B.J.P below 272 majority mark (10:30AM)

According to early trends, the Opposition’s INDIA bloc has made massive gains when compared to the 2019 numbers, already having crossed the 200-seat mark.

However, the NDA still looks poised to return to power, already having crossed the majority mark.

Among the big names that are leading at the moment are Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad and Rajiv Chandrasekhar in Thiruvananthapuram, who leads Congress’s Shashi Tharoor.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads in Varanasi, while Akhilesh Yadav is ahead in Kannauj.

The NDA has also been performing well in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, states that may hold key in the BJP crossing its 400-seat target.

Postal ballots, often turns out to be a key decider.

If Narendra Modi returns to power, he will be the only PM after Jawaharlal Nehru to return to form the government for a third consecutive time.

Voting was held for 543 Lok Sabha seats over seven phases and the majority mark is 272.

Simultaneously, the counting of votes for assembly elections in two states, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, is also taking place today.
